On 29 November 2018 Transparency International Nederland (TI-NL) will be organizing a seminar addressing the topic of whistleblower protection, and in particular the reputation of blowing the whistle. The seminar titled: ‘Blowing the Whistle – Pride, Prejudice & Protection’ will take place from 14:00 to 19:00 o’clock in Kinepolis Utrecht, the Netherlands.
The seminar – moderated by Teun Gautier (founder of PubLeaks) – will focus on questions such as: How can we see whistleblowers as positive forces in our society again? What contributes to the imaging of blowing the whistle? How can we influence this? This is in our view – in addition to strong legislation – the essence of promoting the protection of whistleblowers and the core of the event that TI-NL will organize: searching for the elements that can help to improve the reputation of blowing the whistle.
At 14:45 – 16:00 I will speak at the event in a session titled “Double Act: Whistleblower Wendy Addison VS FCPA-violator & cooperator Richard Bistrong.”
The event site can be found here.

The debate regarding right and wrong conduct, of what is ethical, of how companies, leaders and employees are expected to behave is a hot topic. Current media enables a transparency that quickly reveal if the actual behaviour and operations are not in line with what is expected.
The Nordic Business Ethics Survey is a pioneering survey by the Nordic Business Ethics Network into employees’ views on ethics across multiple business sectors and job roles. It is the first survey of its kind and asks questions such as:
What types of unethical behaviors have you experienced or witnessed at work?
Do you feel comfortable of speaking up of a potential misconduct?
Does leaders and employees play by the same rules?
The results will be published in Oslo on 8 April 2019, and Stockholm on 9 April 2019 by Anna Romberg, Niina Ratsula, and Helge Kvamme, the initiators of Nordic Business Ethics Network (www.nordicbusinessethics.com), at an event arranged in cooperation with Institutet mot Mutor, ICC Norge – The International Chamber of Commerce, Forensic Risk Alliance and Mannheimer Swartling.
I am proud to announce with the Nordic Business Ethics Network, that I will present a key note speech at both the Oslo and Stockholm events, of which the conference sites and registration links can be found here.
