From the ‘Behind the Bribe’ program:
We are very pleased to invite you to attend a unique opportunity to hear from Anti-Bribery Consultant and former FBI/UK cooperator, Richard Bistrong www.richardbistrong.com.
Richard, a well-educated and well-compensated vice president of international sales and marketing for a large multinational defense company, pleaded guilty and was sentenced to one count of conspiracy to violate the FCPA. Richard spent fourteen and a half months in prison and was released in December 2013. As part of his Plea (US) and Immunity (UK) Agreements, Richard went to work as a Confidential Human Source (CHS) and Cooperating Witness for the US Department of Justice, FBI, and City of London Police. Richard has since used his knowledge and experience at the “sharp end” of international business to work with multiple organizations to bolster their anti-corruption efforts.
Over the course of the afternoon, Richard will share his frame of mind on the front lines of international business, as he travelled 250 days a year overseas, and lived part time in the United Kingdom. Richard will talk about the personal impact of prison life, post-conviction experiences, and counsel on how corporations can avoid similar issues in their own organizations. Richard will address the real-world behavioral risk which front-line international executives face in their work, where they operate far from the C-Suite, in often thinly supervised remote offices. Richard will also address audit and forensic issues, as he shares how he circumvented audit and law enforcement for so long, and he will focus on the red-flags the red flags that a risk-based approach to anti-bribery compliance often miss.
We welcome the opportunity for Richard to join us, and he will be looking forward to engaging with the audience during a question and answer session following his presentation.
