The debate regarding right and wrong conduct, of what is ethical, of how companies, leaders and employees are expected to behave is a hot topic. Current media enables a transparency that quickly reveal if the actual behaviour and operations are not in line with what is expected.
The Nordic Business Ethics Survey is a pioneering survey by the Nordic Business Ethics Network into employees’ views on ethics across multiple business sectors and job roles. It is the first survey of its kind and asks questions such as:
What types of unethical behaviors have you experienced or witnessed at work?
Do you feel comfortable of speaking up of a potential misconduct?
Does leaders and employees play by the same rules?
The results will be published in Oslo on 8 April 2019, and Stockholm on 9 April 2019 by Anna Romberg, Niina Ratsula, and Helge Kvamme, the initiators of Nordic Business Ethics Network (www.nordicbusinessethics.com), at an event arranged in cooperation with Institutet mot Mutor, ICC Norge – The International Chamber of Commerce, Forensic Risk Alliance and Mannheimer Swartling.

On Monday 2 March, I will be visiting Stockholm to be interviewed by Advokatfirman Vinge’s Mia Falk, former Detective Inspector and corruption investigator within the Police and the United Nations. The interview will focus on what actions can be taken to prevent and detect corruption. What measures and ‘clues’ may have revealed earlier that I had regularly paid bribes in exchange for business opportunities? - In a world that is embracing data-privacy, how can investigators conduct robust and fair internal investigations, respecting the privacy and privacy laws of individuals and countries, while at the same time meeting their obligations to identify and address potential wrongdoing?
- In addition to data-privacy laws, such as the recent enactment of the GDPR, what about local employment law regulations, including co-determination by local employee representations, and workers-counsel rights that can be legally asserted.
