Now in its 11th successful year, C5’s International Conference on Anti-Corruption – London Edition is where the anti-corruption community meets once a year in June. Key enforcement officials from the UK Serious Fraud Office, the UK Financial Conduct Authority, the U.S. Department of Justice and Securities and Exchange Commission, The Federal Bureau of Investigations, The UK National Crime Agency, cross-industry leading compliance and legal corporate counsel and their preeminent compliance advisors and defence lawyers will come together again for important networking and benchmarking on how to control corruption risks and respond effectively when problems are identified.
On day two I will engage in a panel “Double Act: What Are the Behavioral Drivers of Bribery and Whistle-Blowing.”
This interactive session will walk you through the psychology of bribery and whistle-blowing, through two real-world experiences, as moderated by Barry Vitou, Partner, Pinsent Masons, and Head of their Global Corporate Crime Team and the Regulatory, Investigations and Administrative law group Practice.
In this panel, Wendy Addison and I will share our real world experiences through whistleblowing and bribery, respectfully, and talk about what drives someone to take such risks, with unexpected outcomes. In addition, we will share with Barry how in our current work, how we see opportunities to foster a speak up corporate culture, which can not only serve to reduce the risks of corruption, but can also foster and inspire a workplace where values, ethics and integrity are embraced by those on the front-line of business. It’s a session designed to help you “get to what you don’t know.”
